Biography of Giancarlo Esposito
Giancarlo Giuseppe Alessandro Esposito was born on April 26, 1958, in Copenhagen, to an Italian father and an African-American mother.
His mother, originally from Alabama, worked as a singer in a nightclub, while his father was a carpenter and stagehand from Naples. When Esposito was six years old, his family settled in Manhattan after living in Europe, other parts of New York, and Cleveland.
Early Acting Career
Esposito made his Broadway debut in 1966 at the age of eight, playing a young African-American slave in the play "Maggie Flynn" alongside Shirley Jones.
